AISI 4130
Low Alloy
AISI 4130 is a low-alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum as strengthening agents. Known for its excellent toughness, high strength, and good fatigue resistance, it is widely used in applications requiring high tensile strength, such as in the aerospace, automotive, and oil and gas industries. With a chemical composition of around 0.28-0.33% carbon, 0.8-1.1% chromium, and 0.15-0.25% molybdenum, 4130 offers good weldability and machinability. It is also heat-treatable, which allows further strengthening. Common uses include aircraft components, automotive parts, and structural tubing for various engineering applications.
