AISI 321

Austenitic

AISI 321 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy stabilized with titanium, offering excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly after exposure to high temperatures (450-900°C). The addition of titanium prevents carbide precipitation during welding or high-temperature service, which enhances its durability in such conditions. With 17-19% chromium and 9-12% nickel, AISI 321 provides good oxidation and corrosion resistance, similar to AISI 304, but with improved performance in high-temperature applications. It is commonly used in aerospace, chemical processing, and heat-exchanging equipment. Its good weldability and formability make it ideal for parts exposed to both high heat and corrosive environments.
